Regatta Report
10/29/2006 - GOLD MEDAL PERFORMANCE
The regatta ended on a high note, but the last day was challenging.
In the first race of the last day, we got an early lead, but got too caught
up with covering some of our other competitors, fouled, and finished 5th.
The second race was similar, but we managed 3rd. We cleared our minds for
the final race and ran away to a big win with our early lead.
We are very excited about how this event went. We won with 15 points in 10
races. The 2nd place team had more than double our score.
*With our win at the US Olympic Team Pre-Trials*, we are leading the US
Sailing Team ranking system for 2007. The final two ranking events will be
470 North American Champs Jan. 11-15 and Miami Olympic Classes Regatta Jan.
22-27.
Now we head home for a couple of weeks and will resume training later in
November.
