Our Campaign
The Olympic process is involved, but there are steps common to every Gold Medal.
- Train and race while reaching out to friends for financial support
- In December 2007, we must win the US Olympic Team Trials Regatta in 470 class* to become the sole representative for US in Olympic Games, 470 class
- At the Olympics, in Beijing, August 2008, we must win the Olympic Games Regatta for a Gold Medal
Currently, we are:
- Ranked #2 in United States
- Working toward #1 ranking by Olympic Trials, December 2007
*There are eleven classes ranging from 3 person keel boats to single person dinghies, in both men's and women's divisions. The 470 is two person dinghy fit for a team weight of 300lbs.

History of the 470
The 470, the everyman boat of competitive racing...
- 1963, French architect Andre Cornu designed the 470 as a two-person centerboard boat with a modern fiberglass planing hull
- An Olympic class boat since 1976, 470s are raced by more than 30,000 sailors in 42 countries worldwide
- In 1988, women officially entered Olympic sailing competition with the first-ever 470 Women's event. The United States wins the first 470 Women's gold medal.
- In 2000 and 2004, the United States wins the Silver and Gold medal, respectively in men's 470 class
